When I was litttle I would go to my Aunts farm in the States and shoot her little .22 I dont know what it was or have any pics. I have written her an e-mail - turns out my cousin has it.

All that I remember about it was that it was small, and was an inverted falling block hand operated - not lever loading single shot, and it shot either .22 short or the .22 BBs - anyone have any ideas?

Sounds Like It Might Be...

By "inverted falling block" do you mean that you LIFTED the block UP to load and eject the ammo? Many such .22rf rifles in short, CB, and BB rimfire were produced in Europe (especially Belgium) and were known as "Parlor Rifles" for shooting indoors. If it's one of these it should have some proof marks from Liege Belgium on it. If it has the stylized "lion" trade mark stamped on top of the lift block it is of Ortgie manufacture. There are a lot of them around at very reasonable prices. Not a big demand for them.

Good luck in your search. ---mauser
