Yep. The HMR is almost identical, too. Same OAL, same diameter, except at the neck.

Between the two, the 22WMR is more powerful, at the muzzle at least.

No longer in production, but the 5mm Rem. case is larger in diameter than the .22 Mag. 9mm rimfire is still made in Europe by Fiocchi. Navy Arms has commissioned runs of .32 and .41rf.

There are revolvers like the single six in 22lr and 22mag. They also make a 17mach2 and 17hmr version.
