What is the Status of the GSG16 and the RCMP Lab

Hello

I was wondering what the status of the GSG16 and the RCMP lab was. I read before that it takes about 180 days for the lab to decide the fate of a firearm and the GSG16 has been submitted back in January, 2019.

Any idea if this will be offered in the Canadian market?

I dunno where you heard that 180 day number from.

There's no official time frame on lab decisions for new firearms, and there's a tremendous backlog. Simple firearms (bolt action, pump action, single shots), tend to get classified very quickly, a matter of days or weeks (found this out chatting with an importer at a gun show a few years back, so take that with the grain of salt it deserves).

Some semi autos have languished at the lab for YEARS before being classified.

The only real answer is "it will take as long as it takes" and no quicker or longer than that.

Don't hold your breath, they prohibited a very similar gun 10 years ago as a variant of the MP5

Best way I can put it, If it looks like fun they probably wont allow it.
