Oh ya, you noticed haha. Got some undergrow toenail, color was iodine antiseptic.that gun needs some heavy cleaning solvent, and while you are at it, soak your toes in it as well to get rid of the toenail fungus.
You meant solvent to clean the wood ? I was thinking the look was from previous heavy using ?that gun needs some heavy cleaning solvent, and while you are at it, soak your toes in it as well to get rid of the toenail fungus.
Current value vs what it is worth. That always seems to be the problem. iMO, $700 will not get it sold quickly. To your OP, $600 would be the top end but you can only sell to what someone will pay.
Many of us remember when they were $175. The prices now are offensive,
As I'm not a collector, so might wanna pass her to a real care-taker and just grab another sks for shooting.
Not really. GP11 surplus ammo is long gone, yet what is a K31 worth now? Looking at Intersurplus they're mostly $1100. I remember K31s for as cheap as $300 less than 10 years ago.The prices will start to stagnate even fall, once the cheap ammo is gone.
Thats what happened with the Swiss rifles.
ah not yet, The previous owner of this gun is a serious collector so I trust his judge, plus as a newbie with SKS I don't feel comfortable to disassemble the gun to that degreeNot really. Some of the OTHER less desireable Swiss guns, like K11s, can be had for cheaper, but you're still in the $600-800 ballpark unless its beat to piss.
OP have you checked the gas piston and gas tube? I notice you didn't include pictures of those, and those are the two most likely parts to get replaced during a refurb.
Ya, you're right, I grabbed another 1958 with beautiful laminate wood and plinking with that now.I think you meant to say "might wanna keep this one in the safe and just grab another sks for shooting
