I know some companies are working on importing various military (7.62x39, 5.56mm, 7.62 NATO, etc) from various places around the world, be it new mfg or surplus.

My question is, when will it arrive? I don't really wan't to get into reloading but I dont want to spend $15 on sks fodder either. Is there any hope, or should I just suck it up and start reloading?

The quicker I started reloading the better things were for me. I found I could buy all components (bullets, powder, primers, brass) in large lots for tens of thousands of rounds.

Now, because we live in Canada and for some reason this country has a hard time keeping the world's most common and cheapest calibers in stock (.223 and 7.62x39mm) I am laughing.

Buy components cheap and stack them deep. Then when supplies get tight, you are still shooting for years!

I too got sick of waiting for the the "companies who are importing ammo", its always months to years away...... Now, I make ammo and how much when I want to.

Reload. No milsurp or commercial ammo will be as accurate as ammo that is tailored to your rifle. Reloading makes the endless search for the best ammo price go away too.
