i got this from a friend,it measures approx. 2X2 1/2X1 inches,this box is unopened but the friend said there was some sort of felt washers inside.what is this for? any interest about this?

If they are what I am thinking, they are used in the butt stoc. They were placed on the cleaning kit trap on top of the metal screw (That holds the butt on) to keep the oilier bottle from rattling.

The part number is for the stock bolt washer used on the no1mk3 rifle. You say it is felt? The no4mk1 used a leather washer.

Interestingly, it's the No.1 that specifies a "wad, bolt, stock", and the No.4 that uses 2 leather washers.

you are right stencollector,after opening the box i can confirm it's leather.
this stuff is very common? my friend got lots of these and i was planning to sell some on the ee,any ideas about a price? of course,the ones i will sell are unopened.

you know it seems that every one of my enfields is missing the wad, I think I'v only ever seen 1 or 2 felt wads and never seen a leather one.
