I believe this is a workaround because of some stupid law in some European country.

I don't remember the details but I'm guessing they're not allowed to mount an optic "on top" of a handgun.... or something else similarly ridiculous.

I like velcro wraps for mounting things, or good ol hockey tape. Like in the old days when you had to mount a 4D Maglite to your carbine. This just seems like too much work.
