Do you know how many were made for the RCAF?
The model 82 was called , by the Can. Army as " Rifle , Cooey Pattern .22 in. " Cooey received orders from
Can. Government for 34,810. of these rifles. Of the ones I have seen , some had open rear sights & some also had a unique
peep sight also used on the model 78 & 62.

My High School In Listowel had about 100 of these. Army Cadet Corp used them for drill purposes. Never saw the bolts myself. This was in the 60's. Two ranges in that school.- Under the gyms. No 7's used in shooting program.
School also had a couple of BREN's. We did not shoot them under the gym although i understand there was BREN familiarization training including live fire at the Ipperwash training center.
I have a M82 complete with peep site. Not military marked. I understand they were also sold on the civilian market.
I have shot a couple and they tend to be very accurate.
