What is this shotgun and value? thanks! PiCS

how positive are you on all this Tiriaq? My buddy says it was made 1878-1893 for sure...so??

Tiriaq said it was made in the latter third of the 19th century and your buddy says 1878-1893.
You do understand that the latter third of the 19th century would be 1866-1899, right??
Seeing as how your buddy and Tiriaq are saying about the same thing date-wise, what exactly is your problem with Tiriaq's reply??

Not necessarily Cat, 1000s of SxSs were made by various mfgs. and sold to distributors who sold them unnamed / put their name on them.
eg. Bonehill was first an arms manufacturer who was very prolific, his guns are all over the place with odd names on them.
I like you have a named Pieper, which is quite a nice hammer & damascus SxS which I am happy to own. --- John
You are quite lilkely right on as far as that goes, I have more than a few unnamed Begian guns, and many company named guns with "the interchangeable" and "machine made" locks from the industrial boom that was going on in those days.
Pretty neat guns and if they are tight , the are fun to shoot, even though they are not as well made or as nice as some of the finer English guns.:>)
