It came along with a fully functional MG42 with mount and optics, a M2 Browning with tripod, and a Browning 30 caliber machine gun as well. But we can't tell what this tripod goes with.

It all looks homemade to me. The hasp on the little storage bin attached to the leg is of British origin, like used on the bren/enfield chests and 100 other British commonwealth boxes. The automotive steering box is another giveaway. The poor welding and sharp edges of the mount are another. The various scratches on the assembly shows little or no paint preparation with shiny metal underneath. I highly doubt it's a military produced item.

Well according to the part number I found this on ebay. General Motors Manual Saginaw steering box #5698180.

Our research shows that this box will fit the 1967-86 Chevy Pickup trucks with manual steering as well as some Dodge and Jeep models. Make sure to look at all the images and check the number on your box to make sure that this one will fit for your particular application before purchasing.

We don't disassemble or internally inspect our steering boxes. All steering boxes are sold in "as is" condition with no guarantees.

This box is in nice used condition and has been stored for many years in our dry climate in the Southern California desert. We never throw a cheap black paint job over dirt and rust, like other dealers in order to trick you into buying inferior parts.

Well, somebody went to a lot of trouble to make this.

Or a one of a kind prototype worth a fortune!
