What is this?

This got its name in reference to an inspecter at the Mutzig Arsenal. A Mr. Alfhonse A. Chassepot. He was responsible for the introduction of the needle firepin. What is the stampmark on the left front of the reciever? It might tell you which Arsenal the rifle was originally made? From what I can find all the 1866 models were 11mm caliber and the 1871 carbine model was in the 43 Mauser. Bob
