What is your favorite milsurp to shoot?

This is a pretty subjective thing with many devotees of this or that MILSURP for a variety of reasons. The only way to find out is to buy a bunch and try them out. A few suggestions based on my experience over a long time include the MkIII Ross, M1 Garand, M1903 Springfield, P14 Enfield, Model 1917 Enfield, Mosin-Nagant, Swedish Mauser, No1 MkIII L-E, No4 L-E, No5 L-E, M14, M98 Mauser, M1 Carbine, M1A1/M1928 Thompson, M3 Grease Gun, M1918 BAR, BREN, FN49, FN FAL, MP44, P08 Luger, P38 Walther, M1911A1 Colt, Browning HP, Colt New Service, Broomhandle Mauser, S&W M&P....and the list goes on. So many choices, so little time, and only so much money. Look for ones with a sound barrel and stock and tight sights. Handloading always brings out the best in a rifle.

My 03-A3 Remington with cast bullets. Chosen over a Garand, couple 38 Swedes. K31, several Lee Enfields, a Ross, etc. etc. Also one of the most accurate military rifles (with cast bullets) I own.

MP-40, back when Free Canadians were ALLOWED to.

1911 Steyr, Enfield revolver, Webley Mark VI are pretty much tied. Pre-Victory Smith (10/200) is fun..

Ross Mark III for pure accuracy.

SMLE for fun, Snider for smoke, thunder AND fun.

curious as to what gn/sized bullet you are using and powder. i also cast for several ww2 and other rifles (LE, garand, m1a, 03-a3, k98) and am always interested in looking at other loads

THANKS

always like shooting the enfields the most

Sniper's rifles, replicas or originals. Never got to play with anything with a go fast switch otherwise that would have been a great treat once in a while. Nicest to shoot is my Ross MkII* sporter. Quiet, low recoil and accurate.

I am old enough, and fortunate enough, to have owned and shot the Lewis, Thompson and MP-40. Then there are the various SMLE, Lee-Enfield and Ross rifles and later on in life those fantastically accurate Swedish M/96 FSR target rifles and Swiss k-31 rifles.

But I also have to agree with those who say "the one in my hands at the moment" or "the ones I have lots of ammunition for."
