What is your go-to hunting oriented stock for Ruger 77 Short Action?
Looking for Bell Carlson, HS Precision or similar. Prophet River has only ever carried the Ruger 77 Long action B&C I believe. Have an email into them now.
What do you recommend

Sacrilege! I had the same model rifle and enjoyed 'er for near 20 yrs. T'was great fer me. I feel the all black plastic stock
makes 'er look Savage cheap.

Yes, kinda agree. Synthetic stocks do tend to make rifles look 'cheap'.

I couldn't abide those 'wood' inserts in the original stock. Kinda reminded me of the fake wood panels on a 70's station wagon!

I do also have a 'pepper laminate' factory take-off stock for that Ruger barreled action to go into, though.

Loves me a pepper laminate stock!

Agree .... Those boat paddle stocks are cool. I wouldn't want one in a magnum, but it's perfect on a low recoiling rifle like a 7.62x39.
