What kind of accuracy do you get with your M14?

Haha imagine if your kid was named Accuracy and yours was Repeatability, you'd have a pretty weird family. I'm guessing your wife would be "Dependability" and your life would be pretty boring, kind of like my day at work where the most fulfilling part was taking a 75 minute lunch break to go to Burger King because there's a girl that works there every Wednesday that looks like a horse but has a tight body. Whopper meals are also $5.00 with tax today so it's a good way to duck work and eat some crappy food. I actually ate two whopper meals in one sitting, which is kind of embarrassing, but you know how it goes.

3.5"-4" 5-shot groups @100m - iron sights, cheap SP ammo (russian LVE 145gr) with my 2 fully stock Norcs (one of them is a new shorty).
I believe it should shrink a bit with better ammo.

Update: tried some better ammo today - factory 165 gr Hornady SST groups at ~2"

With some decent ammo/handloads. 1.5 should be attainable. I seem to dance around that using the stock M14 loads. IMHO, if you want anything better, I think you're mostly likely chasing the accuracy fairy.

Some say factory ammo is too hot for M14 actions. It will wear the parts down. BUt I'm sure many say it's ok.

I'm more intrigued to know that the Hornady 165 SST shot reasonably well out of the M14!
