A friend of mine has an old 10 gauge sxs J.N. ANTON & sons stamped on the barrel and 18.9 choke , any idea how old this might be ?

I think he would like to shoot it but has no idea what kind of ammo it can handle , someone here must know something about this gun :) .

It probably is supposed to be J. Manton & Sons. If so, it could be Belgium or Birmingham made. Would have to see proof marks to know. It won't stand up to modern smokeless loads and chamber length would need to be measured. It shouldn't be shot at all until overall condition is checked out. But, it is his fingers.

See above. For age and more comment and information, post a photo of all proof marks.
