What kind of GoCart is this?!?

I was part of the field trials and they are junk, we didn't recommend them but the contract was already pretty much signed when the trials occurred. Another failure of the broken DND procurement system. SF don't like them, other users don't like them but the cool factor his high AF!

I have a Polaris ATV and a small trailer that it tows. It is 20 years old and going strong. Lots of ground clearance and a nice ride. I have often thought that soldiers would find such a vehicle useful.

That said, my Suzuki quad is also nice and even better. In super low with the locked front drive it will go anywhere. I once use it to tow a broken Honda out of the bush. Both machines also towed a moose at the same time. It towed 2 moose and a Honda. The Honda owner stopped bugging me about my poor taste in machines.

Polaris is the best the government can do for our troops ?

curious why were they junk? I,m guessing underpowered, poor traction and ground clearance with the little tires? You think canada would go with can am? Were these left overs from the US orders?

The recurring complaints were;

-Lack of power/torque (vehicles didn't even carry the combat payload during trials)
-Unreliable, we experienced several break downs in five days using brand new vehicles.
-Poor traction came up a few times but to be fair, they weren't equipped with tire chains and it was snowy conditions.
-Lack of ruggedness, vehicles were quite damaged after five days and we didn't ride them very hard or in rough conditions.

Put a Polaris along side a Kubota, designed for serious work, and you'll understand.

I initially thought it was a smart looking trailer but think it has a high C of G and would tend to want to roll over on its side at load.

Sounds more like design or spec limitations than mechanical issues ?
