I am looking for a gun case for my Savage 110BA (51 inches long, 13inches from top of scope to bottom of pistol grip.) I want a quality soft case, or a hard case. Any Tactical Stlyes? Does any one know who sells these products and prices? Thanks you guys and I look forward to your replies.

Check out Impact cases in Markham, Ont. I bought an Explorer (53.125" I.D.) for my 338 Edge with 30" barrel + muzzle brake and it fits perfectly.

Peilcan cases are always an option....not cheap but if you've got an expensive toy you want to protect they're worth it. Can be bought at most firearms stores or Acklands.

Pelican's longest rifle case has an inside length of 50.5", so that may not be an option for you. You might need to look into a custom solution.

I have a Pelican case for my 110BA, it fits, but just barely

I have got a Pelican case (1750) and an SKB case and my ATRS 338 has to be taken down to fit in both, 31" barrel and 3" brake. Kind of a pain but they both protect very well. Those Explorer cases look very nice as well, like a Pelican, but bigger interior dim's.

I have a 60" drag bag.. Thing is a beast. Designed for the Barret 50.

I have my 28" BBld Rig in it

Got it from Alberta Tactical Rifle

Hello Personal Aviator and ceriksson! Thanks for the info! What are the prices of these cases? How did you cut the foam to fit your rifle Personal Aviator?
Take care and straight shoot'in

The one I have is the Pelican Storm case. It was recomemded here by a few others. It has different latches than the standard Pelican case. The latches have push buttons on them that must be depressed before lifting the latch to open. The handles have rubber on them which is great. I love the case. It is heavy though, and my 110BA will only fit inside with the small butpad installed on the rifle and fully retracted. I picked mine up from where I work so I got a discount. I paid just under 300 taxes in and did not have to pay for shipping. I'm not sure what they retail for but i'm sure a quick interweb search will supply that info.

For cutting the foam I made a hot wire cutter out of a pallet, NiChrome wire, peg board, 1/4" threaded rod, two 1/4" nuts, one bolt and nut, an extension spring, and a car battery charger. It worked pretty slick. I traced the outline of the rifle (with all the gear attached, scope, bipod) on bristle board, cut it out and pined it to the foam (the foam comes in two layers about 1" thick each). Then I cut a small slit with a knife to pass the wire through the foam, connected the wire to the spring (to keep tension on the wire), hooked up one lead from the charger to the threaded rod, and the other lead to the bolt that the other end of the wire is attached to, put the charger on 2 amps and pluged it in and went to work. Works pretty slick. I got the wire off ebay from a guy in Quebec, too 2 weeks to get it though and the wire was a bit too small (it kept breaking) but it's all I could find.

I found that if you shorten the legnth of the nichrome wire it will get hotter and cut much better (i had it too long at first and was cutting really slow), but if you shorten it too much it will get too hot and snap. I can provide more details on making the cutter if you wish.
