What length turner sling for my rifle?

I'm going to pick up a turner sling for my rem 5r but they come is lengths 50,52,54 and I think 56. Now I'm 5'9 and average size maybe a bit thick uptop ;p My take is 50 is kinda the standard but would 52 be to loose to have a tight carry? I'll use this for shooting aid and carry.

A 50"-52" mil spec sling works well for M1A/Bolt rifle configurations.
A longer 52"-54" mil spec sling is required for the AR-15/AR-10's as sling swivels are spaced further apart.
Purchase a longer than necessary sling & cut it to desired length.
