I just put a LTR HS precision on my SPS tactical 223 and really like it. I know its a better stock than the houge and looks shouldn't matter but if you were going by looks only, what stock looks better on the gun? the barrel hangs out about 2.5inches further than on the houge one and fore grip of the stock is different.

Are looks important? Shoot the rifle, don't stare at it. The bipod position between the two stocks isn't overly different. The bipod only provides two of three points of contact with the ground/table. The stock, your fist or a rear bag provides the third. The bipod isn't going to get any more stable than it already is. The third point is the one to be concerned with.

The question I would ask myself would be this. What's the difference on LOP between the stocks? Is there a noticeable difference in the comb between the two? Run the one that offers the most natural head position with your optic setup.

The lop is almost exact. The 2.5 inches is all in the fore stock. The HS definitly feels better. the over all length is 40inches. it almost looks as if it should have a fluted barrel. there I go back to the looks thing;)
I know looks don't matter but I was just currious.
thanks

Seeing how the LOP is near identical I would spend some time getting into the stock to see which one feels more natural. Are they the same weight?

I haven't weighed them yet but they feel pretty close. I won't know for sure till I get to the range again.

First one looks better to me (I don't like the hook of the Hogue at the...umm...pommel?)

But shoot whichever one is more comfortable/groups better.
