You have a BSA CF2 action. They used the same size action for all calibres from 222Rem to 300 Win Mag. Rifle is from the early 1970's. Price point was in line with Parker Hales of the day.

My recommendation is to sell the action and put it towards a new rifle in the calibre you want. Finding parts is going to be difficult and if found ...expensive.

i want to use the action buying a barrel and making it into a 270 weatherby or a 300 mag i am looking for a stock brand name that is close to fit going to get the action nickel plated..the head machinist my teacher has the reamers he builds wildcats and fixes guns i would like to go with the 300 win mag but he doesnot have that one..

You can get a reamer for not very much money, so order what you like. I figure the action is worth $200-300 because it's an orphan (and because after that my friend may as well just sell the rifle for parts), but BSA collectors would probably value it substantially more, perhaps some of them will come on. as mentioned, parts are hard to come by, I've been looking for a bolt for my friend for 8 months or so, with no luck. FWIW - dan
