I have a few mosins, 1 has a scope on it. Thats about it the other 3 are stock. I was thinking on doing some work on one:
Muzzle brake
Scope
Maybe a new stock(archangel) or another if I can find something kick a$$

The problem is I only see muzzle brakes for the m44, that doesn't make sense then the bayonet won't fold out.

What have some of you done to yours and please post a pic, everybody likes pics.

The Muzzle Brake blows off after a couple shots.

The only modification I've made to the majority of my Mosin-Nagant rifles is doing the oiled canvas wrap on the barrel and shimming the tang and recoil lug for accuracy. If you want a muzzle brake I suggest you have the barrel threaded and a proper one installed by a gunsmith.

I did sporterize one:

-Barrel cut to 22" and re-crowned and lapped
-Tang and recoil lug shimmed
-Installed in Boyd's Walnut Prairie Hunter stock
-Turned down bolt
-Scope mount welded to left side of receiver
-Magazine body replaced with a dimpled Finnish magazine (no rim lock)
-Trigger replaced with a Finnish 2 stage which I did a trigger job on

It looks like any bolt action hunting rifle and I use it for big game.

Mine was a 1942 Tula and I....
-cut and recrowned it at 22" with a 11 degree crowning tool then polished from 220-700
-added an ATI Monte Carlo stock and dremaled it to fit in the necessary spots
-tuned the trigger so it breaks at a crisp 2.5 pounds with a 2 stage set up
-I lathed down, welded and polished a custom bent bolt
-polished the bolt body so you don't have to do the "mosin slap" to eject an empty
-milled about .2000 off an ATI scope mount so the it would sit flush on the receiver then I drilled tapped and loc-tight'd the screw down(replaced the ####ty aluminum ones and put hardened steel bolts in)
-removed the rear sight and filed down the old dovetail, welded the old pin holes and dressed them down and polished and reblued the barrel

And that's about it lol

Cheers Jason

1941 Izzy 9130
-Custom bent bolt done by your's truly
-tuned trigger down, I think about 4 lbs
-ATI mount
-Falcon Menace 4-14x44
-Muzzle Brake built myself.
-Archangel stock, front end cut down to free float barrel, mine does not like tension.

Got any pictures of your jewel?
