I read the other thread where a guy's binocular lensed were damaged because someone cleaned them improperly and was wondering what should not be used on lenses. I usually use a dampened lens cleaning cloth if they are very dirty and then use a dry part of the cloth. I assume that using some sort of chemical type of cleaner will damage the lens coatings?

Lens pens are fine till the patch wears down then throw it away. The best thing to use are lens tissues dampened with a little distilled water available at any camera shop. They come in a pack similar to rolling papers.

I was told you can use any cleaner used for your eye glasses that have been coated. I have used anti reflective lens cleaner the the Optition gave me. Correct me if I`m mistaken about using it.
