I don't have a photo but last week I purchased for $2.50 a small olive drab plastic bottle of U.S. surplus gun oil at a surplus store.

I was actually looking for the milspec bore cleaner but no surplus store in Metro Vancouver has any more. That's good stuff too.

Anyway, this stuff has a pointed applicator tip that you pull out to squeeze the oil out.

It is kind of a milky light brown stuff and smells sweet.

Reminds me of Fluid Film.

I used a few drops on steel wool on a shotgun barrel I was working on to remove some little rust freckles and it worked like a charm. They came off slick as a goose in grass and out came the bluing of the barrel.

But what is the stuff? The printing has worn off the plastic bottle.

Aha! Found out what it is.

USGI LSA weapons oil specifically designed for the government as a small arms lubricant. Medium weight, semifluid in a reclosable 2 oz plastic squeeze dispenser bottle with an adjustable flow twist top.

I'll be trying it on my shotguns after drying them off after wet outings next fall.

I have some "Sheath" oil, Fluid Film, and unopened bottle of "Barricade" (new name for Sheath) and several bottles of sample synthetic oil I got at marine trade show, so I have plenty of lubricant to compare it with.
