First off I'm sorry for all the optics questions and my opinion flip flops.
I was set on buying a 3x9 scope for my mossberg but I watched over four tactical AR training vids today and my opinion has changed.
I'm now looking for a good red dot site.
I really like aimpoint and ecotec. Trijicon is great but out of my price range. I haven't heard much about C-More sites but I'm worried about durability.
My price range is around $500 at the high end.
I love my tasco scopes but I think tasco doesn't have a high quality red dot. Wish they did!
Anyway, what do you guys have and what do you think the pros and cons are?
Thanks guys!!!!!!!!

Vortex Strikefire: great rig affordable and very reliable. I run it on my center fire AR's and CZ 858/58's as well. Comes with a magnifier too.

Get the Aimpoint P.R.O.

My price range is around $500 at the high end.
I

For that price Aimpoint P.R.O. mounted on the flat top of course. It will absolute co-witness.
(IMHO optics mounted on the carry handle is not the preferred choice.)

The P.R.O compares favorably with other Aimpoint offerings like the Micro T1.
You are getting a quality mount and reliable optics.
You'll step up from the push button controls like on the Vortex.
You'll never have the concern about batteries.
It's doubtful you'll ever think about "upgrading"

Dave's Surplus is your friend.

dunno what's up with the Burris Price discrepancy.

I'd rather pay $499 CAD for a $450 USD optic than $325 for a $120 one.

I guess it's hard to explain why it's worth it to get the best you can afford.

I can say that having done the dirt cheap optic, the replica optic and the not so cheap optic... The "higher end" optic is probably what I should have gone with from the get go.

The only issue is. You don't know what you like, or what works for you until you try it for yourself.
