I'm looking to add a relfex sight or red dot sight to my 870. I wanted to see what you are using or recommend. Yes I will be shooting slugs and all other loads. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

I have either a Trijicon Mini Reflex, Burris Fast Fire II or a Micro Aimpoint on my shotguns. Dont recommend the Trijicon. Doctor Optic/J point/ Fastfires make a nice small compact red dot site. The aimpoint Micro H1 is a good choice. You will probably need a picatinny rail for most of the good stuff, although some of the mini stuff has proprietary mounts that you can get.

Have you considered a Wilson ghost ring site set instead?

I have a Vortex Viper 2-7X32 on my 20 gauge slug gun, and a Vortex Strikefire on my 12 gauge turky gun. Both have performed admirably with no issues. The Strikefire has seen about 200 rounds of 3" turkey loads and countless 2 3/4" target loads with no issues at all.

just picked up a redfield revolution 3-9x40 to mount on my 12 gauge encore barrel when i get the new one from T/C. i must say it's very clear but can't comment on how it handles recoil yet. can't wait to try it.

If u are on a budget please try this:

I got it from Pro Bass and has worked flawless.

Its a TrueGlo - and it comes in red or green dot with a circle around the dot. @30mm diameter.
Its the one on the Hatsan MP-A.

Best of all its around 110.00 CAN

I find any sights useless on a tactical shotgun.
Pick the side of the barrel that your aye and stance like and you are set!
I use the same technique for double taps with my pistols.
