Hello,
Guide rod plastic?? weird.beretta (italian one) is all metal except the grips which are wooden ones.

Yes, but the M9 is the american service pistol. I believe the guide rods are steel, not sure......some one out there must own one?

Trigger, safety, guide rod and grips may be plastic. No need to change any of them. Metal guide rods have a habit of breaking with Berettas, the plastic ones don't.

Don't lay the gun down on the stove if you've just had lunch, you used to be able to, but I guess it's just progress!

I understand that the plastic triggers and safeties on the newer Beretta 92s are apparently metal parts coated with plastic.

The trigger is metal reinforced plastic so is the guide rod..

I have a later 92 Inox model and replaced all the plastic and black/metal controls with Inox once.

I did it to make the gun look even ###ier…

There was no metal parts in the one I was just holding(aside from the grips). It was a standard issue M9 right out of an american holster/hands.
