What parts get cleaned after a corrosive shoot?

Probably been discussed to death but too many opposing opinions. I would like to know from people who actually shoot a lot of corrosive through their SKS and Mosins, which parts of the gun do you actually clean after each outing, which do you clean periodically, and which you don't, with success. Have not shot corrosive yet, but plan to shortly? Barrel is obvious, but what else? Image for fun

I actually clean all the parts the same, non corrosive or not, just that you need to get the salts off when you shoot corrosive so water is needed. I use a ballistol water mix but everybody seems to have a different approach. The barrels are obvious but the bolts, gas tubes and any gas tube part or spring, basically any metal part cleaning. Never had an issue, easy peasy.

I clean the whole thing and take the bolt apart as well. Went shooting Wed and got sick and didn't clean my SKS till Sat and the gas piston was a tad rusty with crap on it. Most other parts were just black. I put 120 Chinese rounds through the rifle and while it was only $0.20 a round you do have to put on the effort to clean the SKS after each use. It gets faster the more you do it😁

Would you take the bolt down to the firing pin out, or just run water through it a that level?

Trick I started doing with a TT33. Is after shooting immerse leave soak then rinse with a gas , diesel mix.
Then field strip and clean what ever is remaining to do.
Works with bolts and trigger groups also
you're flushing out all the salts and the diesel has a oil content
Take your grips off of course
With a barrel I'll run the brush through many times when the muzzle is immersed in gas/ diesel. Then clean and light oil

ALWAYS shoot corrosive through my 3 SKS's and 2 Mosins. After finishing each shooting session I spray them liberally with pure Ballistol (NOT MIXED WITH WATER!), I spray into a barrel, gas tube, action (bolt), mag and the trigger group and go home from the range. After coming home, either immediately or a few hours after return, I field strip the SKS and clean the barrel, gas tube, both pistons and springs, bolt, recoil spring, dust cover, inside the receiver, inside the mag and the trigger group. For a trigger group I use Q-tips. Still just with pure Ballistol. Every couple month or so, I clean the bore with a bit of JB compound on a bronze brush but nothing excessive. A Mosin is much easier to clean since I remove and disassemble the bolt and clean each part of it. Then bore and inside the receiver and mag.
Finally, some buffing of wood stock with a cloth lightly soaked with pure Ballistol. Never ever have used any water on my guns. Doing this for quite a long time. Never had any rust.

I take the firing pin out run a pipe cleaner thought the bolt as well as soaking everything in hot dish soap water and then rinse dry and put back together. Pipe cleaners can be bought at the dollar store real cheap and they have fat ones that are good for all the small areas on the SKS. The pipe cleaners can be doubled up to clean better. A drop of oil on as well doesn't seem to hurt. This has worked for me for the last 2 years. Clean the SKS well and you can use cheap ammo almost for ever!

Compressed air is a great thing to have. I disassemble the whole thing, then toss the gas tube, piston, bolt, and bolt carrier into a pail.
Then, I pour boiling water through the chamber through the muzzle into the pail where the above mentioned parts are.
Then I blast the crap out of the wet parts with the shop air.
Then clean everything the same as any other firearm.

I fill my kettle and let it boil. Pour the boiling water down/on everything the gass's come in contact with. Barrel around gas port, rear sight, inside all of the receiver

Topic only comes up here about every 24 hours ;)

Everything gets cleaned. I put about 3 quarts of boiling water down the barrel and another 2 quarts through the gas tube. The bolt, bolt carrier, op rod, and gas piston sit in a pan of boiling water for several min. Dry everything and oil everything.

I clean everything! using boiling hot water it will dry fast too because it will evaporate quick. I dump enough down the barrel that it gets pretty warm.

At the end of the day I disassemble my SKS and spray all the components liberally with G96 and let soak while I wipe down the stock, after about 10 minutes I clean each part and reassemble the rifle. 30 mins and it's ready for the next shoot
