What parts to polish on express 870?

I read on custom made guns like the nighthawk or Wilson polish the 870 reciever for that smooth action. What places/parts should I polish?

Disassemble your gun and look at areas with wear marks.

To polish what do you recommend? Fine steel wool and oil?

What sort of polishing media would you use? Something fine like jeweler's rouge, or a course lapping compound?

Some people stone the parts, high grit wet sandpaper, some polishing compound. Go easy though, do not over do it.

I still would recommend oiling the parts with a good gun oil and gun grease, and cycling the action and shooting it lots. It will slicken up, but at least at that point you'll know exactly what is causing it to hang up a little. Trust me, it's more fun too
