I have been using CCI primers pretty much exclusively since I started reloading several years ago. This year I found by accident my 223 prefers Federal match primers.
what do you guys use?

For accuracy in my rifles, CCI BR2, Fed 210M and 215M. Will change primers to see which works the best.

For near match consistency, Win LR. Worked really well in my M305.

Pistols usually get a Win primer of some kind. CCI stuff is fine too but got a deal on Win and it works for me.

I use federal match in rifles where accuracy REALLY matters. I'd use them elsewhere too, but they take up way too much damn room in the cupboard. Never used cci's. I'll usually go remington where I can find them, and winchester where I can't.

i use federal . when i started reloading many years ago i tried them all and settled on feds. there always avalable and i have always had good results. my hunting loads use fed 215 magnum in case of cold weather. no misfires or problems.

I always have Winchester, CCI and Federal primers on hand in both Large Rifle and Magnum versions. Sometimes the difference between so-so accuracy and great accuracy is the primer used.

For shotgun shells, where primer selection is less critical, I use nearly 100% Winchester.

I have had such great success with Winchester WLR and WRLM over the years that I am still working on stocks I laid in. However, I do have and use many others in limited quantities. CCI, Federal, Remington, Vihtavuori, and even some old CIL's [cleanest primers ever made, period!] Regards, Eagleye.

What haven't I used?

I started loading with my ol' Dad using RWS primers, and Remington, I think. Right now I've got Winchester and CCI primers on the shelf next to me, and Federal primers in the loading room.
I like each of them best for what they do best.

I have a first year production .357 Colt Python that I have had 'tuned' for light load rapid fire. In that, I use Federal small pistol primers. Cups seem a little lighter & easy to set off double action.

I started with Federal and have just stuck with them. No reason to change.

:D

How 'bout them honkin' big boxes?

I use them all, what ever I happen to find a good deal on. And stock up.

I do like BR-2s though.....

But them Fed boxes sure eat up the real estate at the bench!

A quick inventory of the primer cupboard showed the following.
Fed small Rifle
WSR
CCI BR1
WLP
WLPM
CCI LPM
WLR
WLRM
FED 210
Fed 210M
Fed. 215
Fed 215M
CCI 200
CCI BR2
CCI 215
What you should interpert from this is I will use the primer that works best for a given cartridge, bullet, powder combination.
It's a hobby afterall, and the tinkering is part of the fun.
