What projectile are you using for precision rifle shooting?

In many of my 308, the best load will be tailored with 155 gr Lapua Scenars or Hornady Amax 155 gr Match, those are 2 sweet bullets, i shoot at 600 metres max since a couple of years... JP.

Bergers primarily but I'm not picky. The rifle makes the choice. I have a supply of Lapuas, Matrix, Sierra and Hornady in all the calibres that I use for testing. In the end it usually ends up being Berger, Lapua and Matrix the majority of the time.

I have been using Nosler CC 168gr, 43gr Varget, CCI Primers, seated .015" off the lands, in a Savage Mod 12 Benchrest. So far they hold the tightest groups for me. I have used A-Max, and Hornady HPBT with the same recipe but find the weights are not as consistent, as the Noslers, making the groups a little bigger.

Bergers (Vlds and hybrids) hybrids being a little easier to tune, I'm working towards using exclusively hybrids once I test them out on game. And also A-max's in my 308 because that rig seemed to like them a little more over the bergers hybrids and smks. If you try a box each of these in various weights and work out something like a ladder test I'm sure you will find something that works well. Not a huge difference in price, I think the A-max will run slightly cheaper. I run my 178's at 2.880" @ max mag length for the AI magazine, with no issues and decent accuracy. Runs 2560fps out or a 20" barrel, its a comfortable load for banging steel. Its a MOA recipe, some days a little better others a little worse.
