So, lucky day for me. My wife has informed me she no longer has any interest in using her Remington 700 SPS youth in 3006 for deer and that I am free to do with it as I may. She is content using her shotgun with sabot slugs that she is much more familiar with.

So I need a new stock for it.

Her gun is the usual SPS matte black finish, long action, with a hinged floorplate. Will any long action stock for the Rem 700 BDL models fit this gun?

Remington makes long and short action Model 700s. The only other difference is blind or open bottom for the magazine. A long open bottom action should be very easy to restock.

Stolen from the interwebs --- Main Differences Between Remington 700 ADL and BDL:

-The main difference between Remington 700 ADL and BDL is the magazine type. The blind magazine type of 700 ADL makes it <ie. the stock> a bit rigid while BDL has a hinged magazine that makes it flexible to load.

-The Remington 700 ADL does not have a base plate whereas BDL comes with a base plate and that makes it more versatile.

-Stocks of <factory> ADL are made of wood or plastic while the stock of BDL is made of high-quality wood.

-The trigger of 700 ADL is set for the right amount of pull and it is fixed. The BDL comes with Pro-trigger system, that makes the user adjust the trigger pull too.
