What rings should I get to mount a Burris Fullfield 2 3x9x40 on a rem 742? Should I get direct mount rings or a weaver base? I would have though direct mount rigs would be more stable, but I got flamed like crazy last time I put direct mount ring on. :)

I was figuring on a pair of Burris Zee Rings, and a Burrise 1 piece Base. Should i get the Medium or the High?

Ahh just found the burris fit chart.
It says to get a 1 piece Burrise 410220 weaver base and medium height rings. Is there any difference between the Zee rINGS AND THE sIGNATURE zEE rINGS? Damn caps lock

What are "direct mount" rings?

I've used Weaver bases and Weaver type rings on my 760/7600s for years w/o any problems at all.

The Med height rings will work fine.

The signature zee ring has a plastic insert. You can't bend or crush your scope and it doesn't leave a ringmark on the finish of the scope. Buy that one if you can choose

By direct mount ones I mean to say the ones that don't attatch to a weaver base they just screw direct onto the reciever. I'll see if I can spring for the Signature ones then. I would imagine you don't Lap the signature ones then?
SHould also mention that I won't be getting that burris, my wife's Durango blew a computer on the weekend....Looks like thats gonna take precidence. :(
