What rings should I go with?

Was going to ask this in the XCR thread given the same caliber, but hey.

So, I took the leap and put in for the a/n "carbine" (it's coming with the 16" chrome lined barrel)

I'm thinking that I'm going to be using it more as a SBR, and currently have a Mark 4 LR/T 3.5-10x mounted on my 700P LTR using Mark 4 rings.

Aside from the pain in the a$$ of taking the scope off, would this be a suitable scope for the MWS until I can afford a dedicated scope?

Once I can get something else, I was looking at the Sightron SIII 1-7X24IR4A as an option; I think that would make it quite versatile without breaking the bank (well...more that is).

Thoughts?

Alright, so I'm actually thinking of the Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 for this gun. It's a 30mm tube.

I was going to mount it was a quick detach setup, but I'm almost thinking rings would be a better option - maybe nightforce? As it's going to be on an AR platform, can anyone tell me what height I'd be looking at? I'll probably pull the front and rear iron sights so getting around those won't be an issue.

Actually, Brownells has TPS rings which seem to be a realy good value. I'll figure the height out from LMT or Vortex (unless someone swoops in with some sage wisdom )
