what`s up with Gene`s gun smithing MB

I was wondering if anyone in manitoba , has heard how Gene the gunsmith in selkirk is doing . I was hunting in Manitoba last fal and some one said that he got hurt and he had to shut the shop down . Is he up and running or still closed ? He did a lot of work for me over the years and he always did a great job at a great price . thanks Joe
