I'm thinking of putting a scope on my savage mk II, and was wondering what would be the best suited? I saw some bushnell 3-9x32 at walmart and was wondering if those are any good? can u recommend something under $75?

I put the bushnell 3-9x32 on my savage .17 HMR two years ago and its been a really good scope. Its clear, tough, and for the price its practically disposable.Im sure you wont be dissapointed!

I've got a 4X Bushnell with AO and target knobs on my Rem 581. Its a tack driver, had it five years with no problems. I'm waiting for it to break so I can get a variable. ( I like the lower end for close shots in thick brush). Just can't let GF know its got a lifetime warranty! Shhh.

Just make sure it has an adjustable objective, and pretty much anything should be OK. You don't need to spend a lot on a robust scope for a rimfire as the recoil is almost nil. Even the (relative) cheapies should be able to hold their point-of-aim. I like the banner 4-12x for rimfires - it allows you to see your bullet holes in the target to a little over 100 yards. A 9x might work if its got clear optics and you have good eyes

i would stick with the banner not the cheaper sportsview. not a lot more money but a whole lot more scope. i have a banner 3.5x10 with adjustable parallax on a 10 22.

+1 for the Banner.
I have the 4-12 and the 3.5-10 and no complaints for the price. Both have AO which is great for rimfire.

I've been running a Tasco varminter in 2.5-10x42 with mildot reticle for almost 4 years. Never had an issue. I also use the Bushnell series on my other 10/22. An adjustable objective is nice, provided you know how to use it. Bushnell scopes without an AO are factory set to be parallax free at 50 yards. I have used a non AO scope and find no problem hitting what I aim at.

Either way, you won't go wrong with a descent Bushnell for your rimfire. What I feel is more important when choosing a scope are things like field of view and reticle pattern as well as the use of target turrets. If your shooting is mostly short range than I'd say a standard duplex reticle or 30/30 as Bushnell calls it would work fine. I often times like to shoot at distance with my 22 (sometimes out around 200, I know its crazy but sometimes fun!) so a mildot reticle really aids in adjusting my elevation without adjusting my settings. If you like playing with your settings and working the numbers for different distances then target turrets might be what you need. I would stongly suggest you map out what your style of shooting will be (most of the time) and then decide on what specific model of scope to use.

I dont think the scopes at walmart are for rimfies. You want a:
bushnell 22 mag 3-9x32mm with 50yrd paralax. the ones at wallymart are
set at 100yrds
Although if you want or anyone else for that matter ive got a bushnell 3-9x40 banner for sale. Its a non A/O model

+1 on the Tasco Varmint

I'm using a Tasco Varmint 2.5-10x42 on my 10/22 as well and I don't have any issues with it. I found this scope pretty good and have since put one on my CZ 452 as well.
