What scope for a Baikal IZH-18MH 7.62MM X 54R?

So.... what scope should I use?

I think it's about time I scoped this baby. :D

It has an 11mm rail. I have some Millet 11mm CZ452 rings but I don't know if they'd be suitable.

I was digging through my as yet unused scopes. What would you suggest I use? :) :sniper:

Of those, I'd probably go B&L or the 3200. Mostly because I like variable scopes for the most part, and I know nothing about the quality of the Simmons Master

What the hey only 2 people voted so far!

I was kind of leaning towards the Bushnell Elite 3200 1.5-4.5x 32mm myself too but I was also thinking that the gun is pretty compact and takes down easily so a compact scope might be nice too. Actually I just bought another scope today, a Redfield Widefield 2.75x so maybe that one is a possibility?

I think you're on the right track about using a compact scope on this gun.

As far as the mount goes, I've had excellent results on a couple of European 11mm bases by using a one-piece airgun mount. It clamps onto the full length of the rail, the bottom half of the rings are integral with the mount itself, and if you tighten the clamping bolts good and tight it will not slip. I had one on a Baikal side-by-side double rifle that had several hundred rounds through it and it gave me no problems. Plus, it was cheap. I have picked up a couple of them at gun shows, and LeBarons had them in their last catalog. IIRC, they're only about twenty bucks.
