What scope for around $300?

I am either going to Wholesale sports or Cabellas tommorrow to buy a scope for my 30-06. It will be my hunting gun and get some range time too. I was thinking 3X9. What is the best bang for the buck for around $300?

Take a look at the Leupold VXI with LR reticle for $209.00, if they have any in stock. If not that, then I'd look at Redfields for around $200 or Burris Fullfield II's or a Bushnell 3200 or 4200 if they have them on clearance. All those should be under $300

VX-II 3-9x40s are on sale for under $300. FX-II 6x36s are also on sale for $300.

Stay away from Bushnell, they are s**t hidden inside a scope tube.

I agree that the low end scopes are crap. However I have been pleased with the Elite 4200 series.

Vortex Diamondback. They are awesome for the price and a good all around scope, period.

I'd buy a used Leupold off the EE.

If your not in a rush that's what I'd do.

Vortex has made a lot of inroads and some of them are lifetime guarantee which is nice if you need it.

I'd consider something with a lit reticle if you can find it.....it's nice to be able to turn on a dot in the center of the reticle if the light is low and you are shooting at a dark target!

Look at nikons real good glass for the price

After checking many scopes in the under $500 price range, I am going to try a Nikon as my next scope. The Nikon Monarch is just a bit above your price point, but worth a look.
