Hello,

I would like to start off by saying I am a 100% noob so please bare with me. I would like some suggestions on a scope for my remy 597. I would also like to still use the iron sights without taking the scope off if at all possible. Any and all help is appreciated thank you

You can put see through rings on it, but they will likely put the scope pretty high. I'm not a fan.

Get a good quality scope and you will not need to worry about the irons.

If you are worried about being in the field with a scope that goes out or breaks, I would go with quick detach rings.

As far as scope's the sky is the limit.

What is your budget?

Is it strictly range use, or is it gonna get knocked around in the field?

What distances are u wanting to shoot at?

These questions need to be answered before we can really start, otherwise everyone is just gonna start throwing every option possible at ya.

I'd suggest a 3-9x scope, good for 100-200 yards at least, thats what me and my friends use for messing around with our 22's. I've got one up for sale actually

I suggest whatever you get should have mil dots. It's fun to mess around with them. With a 25 yard zero on the scope I think you should be about 7 inches low @ 100 yards, that's just over two mil dots. My savage bolt holds just over 1 inch @ 100 for a 10 shot group, your Remmy probably won't do as well but it will still be fun to plink cans @ 100 with some consistency.

I'm kind of leaning in the direction of thr busnel banner dusk dawn 3-9 40mm. Has anyone used these ?
