Hi I am new to this forum. I received a Night Vision Scope from a friend (I am don't own weapons or hunt or shoot for that matter so for me it would just be something to sell).

I did some minor research and found out that the manufacturer Apollo Lasers' Javellin Division apparently built job specific optics for the US Military in the 70's and after connecting with a previous US armed forces member he said that these scopes were made for Special Ops back then. That being said my friend pointed out that he received the scope from someone in the US Military about 30-40 years ago.

Now since I have no use for it or Idea what to do with a fully functioning night scope I plan on selling it but I don't know who'd buy something like this. I found that two of the Lenses are Apollo 135mm f1.3 and one is Apollo MC TV 75mm 1.3 as well as one massive Apollo Telephoto 300mm lense. I attached some pictures below maybe someone can give me an idea as to what i am looking at?

Thanks

I don't know exactly what that is, but after some google research I can offer a couple of suggestion, none of them probably correct though...

1. that doesn't look like any rifle scope I have seen, most rifle scopes have turret housing on them for alligning where the reticle is looking with windage and elevation adjustments.
2. A quick search for javelin optics did bring up some fairly interesting camera equipment, which is probably what you have there seeing as how that one piece says TV on the inside of the bell, my guess would be maybe a NV spotting scope :S
3. back to the rifle scope, you might actually have just the interior of the scope without the other parts that I meantioned, in which case I hate to be the bearer of bad news but just an interior of a rifle scope no matter if it is NV or not, I don't think it is worth very much

I will say this though, I'm no professional and my honest advice would be take it in to a camera shop; they're gonna be the best bet for telling you what you have actually got in your possession and don't let it out of your site, if it is what you say it is, there probably is someone out there willing to shell a decent amount of coin on it.

I would E-mail those pictures to Camera Land NY. If there isn't someone there who has the answers, I expect there is someone there who knows who does have the answers.

That would make for a very vulnerable scope. That design and its mounting piece look more like it sits on a tripod than anythign else. Maybe long range zoom for a camera?
