Im pretty much an iron sight guy, but I think it would be nice to add a cheap scope to my Lakefield Mk.II.

I dont know much about optics and mounts, but it seems like the rifle comes standard with a dovetail milled into the top of the receiver? Does anyone know the size of this, and if a scope such as

will mount to the rifle without any problems?

Thanks!

All those low cost .22 scopes seem to come with rings for dovetail mounts so I'd bet $50 it would fit no problem.

That's a $10 scope if you go to the States.

I say get a Simmons 4 x 32 for $50 in the States or maybe $75 in Canada and you'll be a lot happier.
Look here.

Whatever you go with, make sure it's for rimfire rifles unless you plan on doing most of your shooting out at 100yards+. I have tried the rimfire scopes from bushnell, simmons, tasco (the $50ish 3-9x32 scope, not the $10 cheapos) and they all work well enough for what you want from them. Some like fixed 4x32, some the variable, but if you plan on spending around $50 before tax you can get a decent enough rimfire scope
