Hey guys...I was about to buy a new scope and some rings for my new CZ452 Varmint .22, then I got to wondering what everyone is using..and if you have photos you could share. Would love to see a side view of the scope, bolt clearance photo, distance off the barrel at the obj. end, etc. I've spent a heck of allot of time on Google and seen plenty of set-ups, but I'm looking for scope details (incl. ballpark price) and the exact make/model/height of rings. I have a couple of scopes that could be contenders, but I'm thinking something new...dedicated to the gun would be nice. Would love either a super fine duplex reticle, or even a fine target dot. 4-12x power range will probably be what I end-up buying, would love SF, but would settle on AO. Would like to keep the scope at around $300....so not allot of room to play around, but that budget is not set in stone.

In terms of what I have~one of them is a Vortex Viper HS 4-16x44 SF and I'd love to use this scope...but I'm reluctant to play the scope ring lottery and end-up getting the wrong ones after a few attempts. lol On the VERY off chance you have one of these on your CZ Varmint...PLEASE chime in with photos and ring details! :)

Thanks for taking a moment to respond.

Got a cheap bushnell 3x9 with a cleaning pack combo for 80 bones... Until I put a vortex 4-16 power on it lol... works

This is a CZ455 Varmint. The scope is a Burris 4.5-14 x 42. The Leupold Ring Mounts are the highest made and the clearance is close. I could try to take a photo of the clearance only but it is about three playing cards. The CZ455 American has a DIP base, Burris 6-18 and I just switched to Burris rings with inserts so there is lots of clearance but no pictures yet.

I use BKL or Sportsmatch rings for the dovetails on the CZ's. They don't move. They are available in 1" and 30mm. I've got BKL's on two Anschutz rifles now and a lot of guys on RFC use them too. The BKL rings are available from the manufacturer or from Airgun Source or D&L Airguns (air rifles typically use dovetails like the CZ rifles have). Sportsmatch are available at Specialty Shooting Sports in B.C. and from Airgun Source.

on my V I have a Scorpion Copperhead 4-16x40. the rings are just what came with my 3-9x32 Simmonds 22mag scope. 11mm CZ rail, no adapter. its very tight clearance but pretty much perfect. I like to use the shortest rings as I can and still fit the scope.

no bolt or ejection issues at all.
