What should I size my 45acp bullets too? - Problem solved

I purchased a Les Baer 45 and find that my cast bullets are oversized for it, even though they work fine in my Colt Gold Cup. I am currently sizing my bullets at .452. I see in my reloading book that they suggest .450. Is that the proper size for 45acp?

Slug the barrel and add 0.001"

Check the crimp, then check the bullet seating depth . The new gun may have little to no freebore.

45acp bullets regardless of length, weight, or finish, are either .451 & preferably .452. Les Baer knows this.

Find, buy or borrow a standard factory 45acp loaded cartridge and chamber it. If it won't chamber, your barrel chamber was cut too shallow and Les Baer has egg on his face.

Hatman1793 is correct. ,,,,,, .451 or .452 for .45 acp .

I ended up taking the gun apart to try the bullets in the chamber. I discovered a thin film almost like a layer of paint inside the chamber. After a good scrubbing, no more problems.
