Buy/borrow a SKS....semi auto and a bayonet to stick wilber if he runs at you.

Your not far off as a lot of hog hunters in the US use semi autos.
Methinks an SKS would be a good reliable rifle for such a dirty job.

holy thread resurrection ted! yes the 358 would work just fine. last years hunt never came to be, but i know of a general area where they lurk. as for the SKS, i don't think i can even dignify that! sorry noel that .30-40 never did shoot straight, gave up on it.

Not sure about pigs, Kevin, but the 250 Speer spitzer is still awful hard on moose!

I have shot dozens. The problem that a person usually runs into is not putting them down fast, but running out of ammo because usually when you find them, you find the entire herd. Go with the .303 will 10 rounds of soft point in the mag.
