OK, for some you may be dismayed at what I want to do, but I am currently restoring an old pump/slide sawed-of shotgun. Already finished the walnut (turned out really nice). I had the intention of reblueing the metal but after I stripped the old blue and rust off and wooled it down to the nice smooth silver metal surface, I no longer want to blue it because I think the bright steel looks real nice with the light walnut
. I don't hunt much just want to shoot skeet but I guess it still needs some kind of sealant/coating for protection. Could you give me some suggestions and what I could use to give the steel some kind of light protection? Also, there were some deep scrapes and in trying to beat them down a bit I've left some scratch marks. Is steel wool the best to try and even these out? Thanks
