Just as the title says "what should one put in his blind bag?". Going on a suck hunt on Sunday (first real one) and i have the essential gear and a blind bag but dont really know what to put in it other then shells. What do you fellow gun nutz suggest or are your recommendations?

Thermos of coffee (warm bevy of choice) something to eat(high energy)extra shells and maybe some binoculars.
The list can go from there, depends on how long you plan of staying out there for and where you are from in relation to the area you are shooting in.

SOmething to keep you fed, watered, calls, hot shots or other hand warmers, light and without doubt toilet paper. Also remember camera and an extra pair of socks and a layer for warmth

In my blind bag? Let's see? I have a mesh zip flap under the lid containing licenses
and a copy of the regs. In the main pouch there is a zip close plastic pouch. In that is my spare chokes and wrench along with two spare clip on call loops for my lanyard. In the main bag itself is ammo, camera in a ziploc bag to keep it dry and dirt free, gloves, spare batteries, head lamp, bottle of water, lighter, granola bar or two and a knife. In the end compartments are a can of Rem Oil, a rag, bore snake, tooth brush and gun hinge grease. In the front compartment is a pair of needle nose pliers. They work great for quick removal of leg bands!! My calls rarely go in my bag. If they are around my neck there is less chance I'll forget them or miss them in the dark. Also I clip a bird lanyard on one end of my blind bag. Toilet paper? I keep lots in the truck and it's never parked too far away, lol!! And almost forgot, I carry a small first aid kit. I have never needed it for myself in 35 years of waterfowling but it has come in handy to patch up a bleeding dog a couple times .

Toilet Paper in zip lock bag, knife, compass, 2-Bic lighters, 25ft. parachute cord, Fox 40 whistle, bottle of water, granola bar, and your good to go for the day. Since your duck hunting, I'll assume diving ducks being late in the season you'll want binoculars. Floater coat and insulated rubber boots of some sort. At least 50 shells, hard to have to many of them, especially over decoy's.

A flashlight... a hand muff (I said "hand" Powdergun)... and three times the shells that you think you will need... and you will be a box short...
