I am up to finalize a deal for one 308 heavy barrelled gun from a well older fellaw with increasing health problems.
This was he's project gun along couple years never finished entirely, I want to keep building it for BR and target - competition shooting 2-300 meters. It is already customized up to some decree but I have my own preferences as well.
I have couple of high power 1-50x60 Japanese and EU made SFP scopes on my airguns, but I would not dismount those for the 308. Not for now at least....
I am a firm believer "if you can see it you can hit it" also no need for extra spotter to drag around.
I just started researching for a single power in minimum 40 power but more is better. I had couple scopes earlier up to x32 and got rid of them all.
My first focus will be getting a higher quality from second hand instead of buying BNIB from a store.

Any advise from competition shooters?

I saw a March 48 in US classifieds, a hassle for seller to drop it across the border (because of bs ITAR thingy).
Earlier time I look through a Sightron 45, much darker then a 36 can't confirm was that a lemon? Also doesn't have a center dot what I would prefer for distance.
