What size of bullseye is it in a service rifle competition?

Are you ready for this?

1. For all Deliberate matches and the 500m snap and rapid. The bullseye will vary depending on the range. The V Bull is 1.5 MOA and the Bull is 3.0 MOA. This equates to:
200m - VBull is 3" and the Bull is 6"
300m - VBull is 4.5" and the Bull is 9"
500m - VBull is 7.5" and the Bull is 15"
2. For those matches that use the handheld figure 12 (match 2, 4, 6 and 8). The VBull is 6" and the Bull is 12".
3. For those matches that use the handheld figure 11 (match 3 and match 7). The VBull is the inner two boxes and is 4"wide x 8" high. The Bull is 8"wide and 16" high.

We use a modified fig 12/59. The inner is 6", the outer is 12" and we use the same target at 100m, 200m, and 300m. Scored 5, 4 and anywhere on the paper 3. 40 rounds, 200 points.

I asked because I was thinking of trying it out with an SKS. Mine however could not hit the V-Bull. I have a Custom Remington with a guillard barrel. Would I be allowed to compete with that.

Any gun any scope.... fill your boots but you might find the rapid fire tricky with the 700 though the bolts are soposed to have more time for this part.

You need to hit the target to hit the Vbull:p

The rapids, run down, and maybe the standing or kneeling matches might prove a bit difficult. Your deliberates would <should> be cake though.

Give it a shot. I have seen the odd SKS on the firing line.

I have shot many C7s that couldn't hold a group inside the bull of the deliberate targets,, and have gotten respectable scores.

It is the missed shots will hold you back,, and you will miss a bunch by shooting a bolt action rifle (can not keep up in the rapids and snaps).
