What size shells can I shoot in a break action Cooey 84?

You should NEVER attempt to fire ammunition that is different from the type that your firearm is chambered for. Firing 3" shells in a 2 3/4" chamber is a VERY bad idea and can cause you to have a very bad day.

I have one that's a 3". It's a Cooey 840 (winchester) tho so I dunno. Apparently they do have 3" and 2.75" models tho. Measure the chamber.

the length is that of a fired shell.
2.75" is the length of an open shell, so the 3" is actually 2.75" (give or take) unfired. It'll fit, but it ain't the best to shoot.

ONLY shoot the short ones UNLESS the barrel is stamped for the longer ones. There were no 3" shells until after WW II but there were plenty of firearms produced prior to then.
