Hi
Can anyone out there tell me what kind of solution I should use in my Ultra Sonic machine to clean either blued or stainless gun parts. Any info on this matter would be much appreciated.
i wonder if it'd be too fumy for you starting with diesel/house fuel? I don't think straaght kerosene at CT would be a budget breaker either but again...the fume thing...
if you use solvent, first find a jar with a good lid that will fit in your USC.
as long as the liquid in the USC comes over the jar and some of the liquid inside, it will transfer the waves.
you will have to experiment a bit to find the sweet spot as to how far in the USC the jar needs to sit to best transfer, but it works. I use baby food jars. but tall pickle jars should work well for longer narrow parts. Or an Olive jar
I just use plain old dish soap & warm water, each time for 8 mintues. It gets rid of grease, rust, crud, etc. You might have to put them in a couple of times, though.
