What the hey kinda AR did I buy?

Really? What would I expect, tight(er) groups? 'Cause I gotta say, they're already purdy tite considering that I was using the OEM peep sights.

Matter of fact, a gentleman who sold me my Officers ACP told me he had some of that stuff for sale. Hmmmm :p

Whaaaat? Nothing wrong I'm sure with ATRs products, but the first bit on Stag, one man making an anonymous internet dig with nothing to back it up doesn't make it truth. I wrote the Saputin to ask why he made that comment, but no response. Oh well.

If it is mostly black in color it was Ceramic coated, but rest assured the barrel blank is a stainless matchgrade, not your typical spray and pray barrel.

Out of curiosity, about how long ago was this? Is it unusual to export AR parts to a foreign agency and then have them re-export it back to Canada when they surplus it?

That barrel was not surplused by anyone. After fullfilling the foreign contract we had some barrel blank remaining and so produced a number of different length barrels for sale.
